“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes... you're Doing Something" - Neil Gaiman

Hello there!
My name is Laura. Lovely to meet you! To be honest, I have created this website as part of my Information and Communication Technologies Applied to the English Language course. You see, I'm doing the master's degree on teaching. 😊

Let me tell you a bit about myself: when I was in high school (around 16 yo) I discovered I really liked English. Like, a lot. Not only that - I wasn't half bad at it! I have always loved watching TV shows and movies, so I started to watch everything in English. I watched everything from Mary Poppins to BBC Sherlock or Doctor Who, to my favourite - The Lord of the Rings. Oh, the accents! I also love reading, which is why I decided to do English Studies at uni.

I thought my main interest would be Literature, but I discovered Linguistics, especially Phonetics, and my soul was sold. I went abroad to do my last year of uni in York, UK. I did all third year Linguistics courses, and it was demanding, but also incredibly rewarding. After that and bit of working experience as an English teacher I realised I love teaching, so here we are.

In my blog, I will write about teaching, teaching methodologies I learn about, reflections... anything and everything. Welcome to this little adventure!
